but they are made of flesh and blood and, therefore, cannot escape death.
If only we as humans could defy gravity, become invisible and build webs,
we would be known as superheroes.
They, unfortunately, do not exist outside of comic books, cartoons and films.
These superheroes, however, serve a necessary purpose.
They give children hope.
Hope that everything will be all right in the world
or perhaps just in their homes.
Children will learn soon enough about the evil villains of the world,
but these superheroes may give them the strength to feel
as though they too can conquer anything in life.
Even as adults, we need to be reminded that we
each hold the power to make the world a better place.
Once in a while, we just need to be given something or someone to cheer for.
